Why are Organic Holi Colors the Best | RB Colour

“Bura na mano Holi hai” is one of the most used terms across India during Holi but this does not mean that we should use harmful substances on our body for the sake of fun nowadays synthetic colors are used mostly all over because they are cheap, have an extended expiry date even some has no expiry date at all and have a variety of colors to choose from.

  • Herbal Holi colors are preferred over synthetic colors because synthetic colors have all sorts of toxic chemicals like glass particles, aluminum bromide, etc.  They are not only harmful to humans but also equally harmful to our environment.
  • Synthetic colors degrade land and water as well whereas organic colors are environmentally friendly, they are 100% natural and they are also non-toxic, no artificial colours, and nonchemical. We are taught not to put colors on pets and stray animals as Synthetic colors can cause tremendous harm to the animals.
  • Organic colors are suitable for everyone; they do not cause any allergic reactions and skin inflammation.

  • They do not leave any stain behind on our skin and can be washed very easily. To protect hair and skin from chemically rich Holi colors are hazardous for skin and can cause acute nail fold inflammation and contact dermatitis.
  • These colors can cause risk to the eyes while playing Holi, often colors tend to come in contact with our eyes and can cause burning sensations and even internal damage while organic colors get washed away with a splash of water.
  • We often tend to ruin our Holi clothes with tough stains of those artificial colors because synthetic colors leave some strong stains behind making our clothes completely useless for further use while herbal colors can be washed to remove the stains.
  • Synthetic and organic colors may look similar but they are not in terms of texture as well. Organic colors are very smooth with finely mild particles whereas synthetic colors have harsh particles which can cause harm to our skin.

Lastly, organic colors gulal can easily be prepared at home, for example, soaking some test flowers overnight can provide us with saffron color and for the green color you can crush mehndi leaves and for yellow, you can mix turmeric with gram flour.
