India is also known for its festivals of colors and ethnicity across the globe. With a rich cultural heritage, there are numerous occasions and festivals where Holi colors are used apart from the Holi Festival itself. As the name suggests, the Holi festival observes the Victory of good over evil. Various colors and sweeteners are used to celebrate the people from multiple communities gather together to celebrate the festival.

When and how the festival is celebrated?

 

If you talk about the calendar, the Holi festival is celebrated on the last two days of the Full Moon during Phalguna also marks the beginning of the spring season. During this Festival, colored powder (Dry), also known as Gulal, is used. Apart from dry Colors, people in various places use flowers and multiple elements to celebrate the festival.

 

Though several colors are used to celebrate the Holi Festival, a specific regional festival like Ganapati is celebrated in later August or early September to welcome Lord Ganesha at home.

 

"Ganapati" is an eleven-day festival celebrated in various parts of India despite community differences. During the Ganapati festival, the idol is worshiped following the first day, and on the eleventh day, the model is immersed in water with the help of dhols, singing, dancing, and playing with colors.

 

Though there are various occasions and festivals where Holi colours are used as a celebration across multiple communities across the globe, Holi festival, or the festival of color, is one of the most awaited festivals celebrated in all parts of India with different sets of colors.

Places for the celebration: -

In some places, like in Mathura, people use flowers instead of colors to shower their love and affection. Since all the festivals are celebrated with love and warmth, always make sure to be safe and take all the precautionary measures while playing with colors for your safety.
